We’ve talked a lot about how to extend your acer laptop battery life, but before you to do so, you should also know some using basics of laptop battery. Take care of your laptop battery and ensure that it will be ready to work properly when you need it most. Some general tips for laptop care include: avoid extreme temperatures, don’t leave a laptop outside in cold weather or leave it in a hot car. 3. Turn Down the Lights
Adjust the display brightness to a lower setting, make sure you can view the screen without squinting. You can also adjust the brightness of the display to suit the conditions you are working in.

Keep an eye on your ACER laptop battery consumption and know how much power you have remaining. Use the laptop battery power icon on the system tray or you can purchase batteries which have LED gauges on the outside of the battery itself.
5. Charging It Up
Whenever you have access to a power source, charge the ACER laptop battery. Before you leave on any trips, fully charge the laptop batteries, especially if you don’t know where or when you might have access to any electrical outlets.
6. Get Another Battery
Some laptops are capable of running with two batteries. If you cannot run two batteries, check with the manufacturer to see if there are high capacity batteries available. External batteries (ACER aspire 3000 battery)can also be used to extend operating time.
7. Drain the Battery
The first time you use your laptop with battery power, allow the Acer  laptop battery to completely discharge. Do this at least twice and don’t try to charge the laptop battery when it is half discharged.
8. Clean Batteries
Keep the battery and its connections clean and free of debris. Clean your ACER laptop battery terminals on a regular basis using a cotton swab with rubbing alcohol on the tip.
9. CMOS Battery Check-Up
The backup battery is a CMOS battery which is a secondary laptop battery (such as ACER 2300 Battery) to power the clock and can drain a main ACER laptop battery if it is dead. Check with your User Manual or manufacturers web site for the location of the CMOS battery and where to get a replacement.
10. Turning It Off
Don’t run programs or devices that you aren’t using. Remove PC cards and turn off Wi-Fi software. Using your laptop to watch movies or play games will drain the acer laptop battery quickly as well.

Battery Conservation Tips

Are you always running out of battery power just before you take that perfect picture with your digital camera? Here are some

tips to conserve your batteries when you are out “snapping away”.

1) Turn off your digital camera when not in use. If you are in a situation where you must snap pictures quickly, this may not

apply as turning digital cameras on and off take a few seconds, and may cause you to miss a picture-taking opportunity.

However, if you are taking a leisurely stroll and can afford a couple of seconds before snapping a still subject, by all

means, conserve your digital camera’s energy!

2) Many digital cameras have a regular viewfinder and an LCD viewfinder. While the digital LCD viewfinder has its benefits,

it can drain battery power. Turn it off when applicable and use your regular viewfinder for taking pictures.

3) Don’t stop after taking every photo and look at the picture in your digital camera’s playback mode. Granted, you sometimes

need to look at photos immediately after shooting them in order to make sure your exposure is correct, the lighting is ok,

etc., but doing this does use up your digital camera’s battery power.

4) If you are using MicroDrive media, be forewarned that these miniature hard drives may take up quite more power than

Compact Flash cards.

Alienware Area 51 – M7700 – The Dream

Flashback year 2006, everyone in the computer world got stunned as Alienware unveiled their new breed of customizable gaming laptop, the Alienware Area 51. Back then, this gaming laptop was hands down every gamers’ dream for a gaming laptop. If not for its steep price back then, everyone would probably work double jobs just to get their hands on this formerly jaw-dropping gaming notebook – including myself.

What more could a gamer ask for in a gaming laptop? What game or 3d application do you think would not be running without a snag on the Alienware Area 51 M7700’s 3.8 GHz of hyper threading raw processing power provided by Intel’s Pentium 4 processor? Add Nvidia’s GeForce 7800 GTX with 256mb of dedicated memory for stunning visuals. Not to mention its 4 GB of PC5300 DDR 2 of ram. And of course, nobody with a right mind would settle for less than 7200 rpm for a hard drive given you already have all the previously mentioned top performing specs. Definitely not I!

Oh well, those were the days when all I could do is daydream on getting my hands on the world’s best gaming laptop. Luckily for me, the time for daydreaming is over. Even with our present economic challenges, I have managed well enough to be able to finally get myself the gaming laptop that I deserve.

Dilemma to get Alienware Area 51 – M7700

Ok. Now here is the funny part. I finally got enough cash to splurge on my dream gaming laptop right? So shopping I tried to do. And guess what? Alienware does not sell my dream no more! How ironic.
